The cardiologists at Heart Center Cardiology treat
heart disease and heart failure with fewer complications
and improved long-term heart function. Part of their
success is due to state of the art technology. More
importantly, it is their skill and experience that
provides their patients with superior results.
“Primary angioplasty” has been used
here in Central Oregon, with excellent results,
for decades. Yet, according to the New England
Journal of Medicine, it is a procedure unavailable
to many living elsewhere.
According to a national ratings firm, Central
Oregon's St. Charles Medical Center is distinguished
as one of the top 100 in the country, where the
outcome for heart attack patients is rated among
the best.
The cardiologists at Heart
Center Cardiology have
mastered the use
of a NEW procedure called “Radial Angioplasty,”
where the balloon is inserted through the wrist,
rather than the groin area. According to Dr. Bruce
McLellan, this procedure is faster and easier
on the patient. Though not appropriate for every
patient, nearly 60% of the patients are eligible
to receive this new procedure. |
